Đorđe Radić (1839-1922) je poznat kao prvi srpski doktor agronomskih nauka, mada on nije samo u tome čelni agronom Srbije, pa je to uzeto za opštu temu članka, sa posebnim osvrtom na oplemenjivanje i semenarstvo kulturnih biljaka. Radić je bio utemeljivač srpske agronauke, osnivač prvih poljoprivrednih škola, pisac kompleksne knjiške i časopisne literature, u koje je uveo crtež i kolor. Autor je prvih monografija o gajenju najvažnijih kulturnih biljaka i živine, suosnivač i čelnik srpskog Društva za poljsku privredu (DPP), njegov sekretar i urednik glasila, zatim prvi agro-prosvetitelj i agroistoričar, prvi citiran u svetskoj literaturi. Bio je član više od 60 društava, prvi je odnegovao sorte biljaka i meleze ovaca, jedan od prvih genetičara, oplemenjivača i semenara u svetu, a prvi u Srba. This paper explores the hindering factors of ritual transformation from one to the new generation in an urban setting. Paper describes the ritual narratives of the Limbu community practices based on Mundhum, and how it has been impacted in an urban setting. Shared the narratives by generation gaps, its practices, and external influencing factors in Limbu communities on the transformation of Mundhum. The Limbu community are indigenous populations who were migrants from the eastern part of Nepal, especially Taplejung, Terathum, Dhankuta, and Panchthar districts, who are the sampling frame for the qualitative study of this paper. Used ethnography for the collection and interpretation of data from the field with a non-probability sampling technique. War remembrance and traumatic experiences of the violent pastby losing family members, witnessing atrocities, being displaced from homes etc., plays crucial role in the aftermath process of peace-building. They shape significantly socio-political developments and ethnic relations in the post-war societies.1 The collective memory, among other purposes, has also function of commemoration -to honour and mourn the victimsand to provide lessons about the past for the present and coming generations. In the post-war and deeply divided societies, war remembrance and commemoration are not only reminders of the past, or sites of memory; they become also the means of identity formation.2 Furthermore, memory of war shape present and future relations between former conflicting parties, whereby contested memories may hinder constructive dealing with the past, transitional justice and therefore consolidating of a common polity.3

Resumo: El pensamiento de Karl Marx tiene como premisa de su trabajo una visión de la «Totalidad», por medio de la cual realiza una crítica al modelo de sociabilidad sustentado por el proyecto moderno civilización en las esferas económicas, políticas y culturales, formulando así el concepto político de «Comunismo». La recepción de sus ideas en América Latina, no sólo marcan un momento importante dentro de la tradición del Marxismo, sino que marcan fuertemente la historia de la filosofía en el subcontinente, determinando el devenir de las luchas políticas en el plano teórico-práctico. Creemos que es necesario una reinterpretación en clave política, de la antropología económica de Marx, puesto que su referencias a los «formas de socialbilidad de los pueblos amerindios», dan cuenta de su proyecto crítico ante el proyecto de civilización occidental, núcleo central en la reinterpretación actual de su obra.

The study takes a stance to explore the political discourse speech in Malawi as the country draws closer to the May 2019 general elections. This is a war-like zone period with different political figures pursuing, negotiating, and struggling for power. We specially mount our research to investigate how Saulos Klaus Chilima strategizes to get the winning card by exploring his voice and voice projection techniques during the launch of his party. We have hence borrowed insights from Heffer’s (2013, 2018) Voice Projection framework (VPF) and used Nvivo 11 Pro software in the analysis. The study discovers that his launch speech is highly authorizing, persuading, converging, and highlighting with very few instances of centring, and indexing which made the speech more powerful, stimulating and impressive. The study brings a different dimension of analyzing political discourse by shopping a theory from Forensic discourse.

La catastrophe désigne un évènement brutal, à large échelle, entraînant des conséquences négatives irréversibles. Regroupant des évènements largement hétérogènes (guerres, épidémies, sécheresses, grands feux, inondations, perte de biodiversité, naufrage d’œuvres d’art…), la notion de catastrophe, parente de celle d’effondrement ou de sinistre, peut être définie comme un syndrome.

Resumo: Este artigo foi escrito a partir de minha tese de doutorado apresentada ao Programa de Pós graduação em Antropologia da Universidade Federal da Bahia intitulada: (ECO)LOGIAS DO CUIDADO: Saúde, natureza, e sociabilidade em Serra Grande, Uruçuca-BA (2020). Trata-se de um breve resumo de uma etnografia sobre como as "coisas" (Ingold, 2012) especialmente relacionadas à saúde e cuidado em diversas formas, se correlacionam com o território e os distintos modos de habitálo, reformulando, concepções sobre Natureza e Meio ambiente, bem estar, qualidade de vida, cuidado de si, do outro e do mundo na emergente Vila de Serra Grande, no Sul da Bahia.

This paper examines some of the symbols of identification used by the Rastafarians. The paper provides some historical background dealing with the emergence of the Rastafarian movement and in particular, the emergence of various symbols of identification. The meaning and representation of these symbols is discussed in light of the movement's political and religious beliefs. Within the framework of current anthropological thought regarding symbolism, the paper analyzes Rastafarian symbols of identification in terms of their representation of the polarities of nature versus culture and pure versus profane.

This article investigates the "othering" of Muslims in two Northeast Indian states: Assam and Tripura, in a region known for its ethnic, linguistic and cultural diversity, and long history of militancy and civil unrest. Northeast Indian politics thrives on disagreement between "Us" and "Them" and tensions over illegal migration, drawing on overlapping or intersecting frames of "othering." This study asks why and how the political "othering" of Muslims persists, and why the religious frame, or the Hindu-Muslim divide, is more salient in some parts of the region than in others. Drawing on fieldwork on the Indian side of the Indo-Bangladesh border in Tripura and southern Assam, historical records and contemporary print media archives, this study compares the role of Hindu-Muslim contention in the politics of the two neighboring states and finds reproduction of the Hindu-Muslim divide in Assam and resistance to Muslim "othering" in Tripura. The theoretical contribution of this article is to confront the concept of "othering" with colonial and post-colonial frameworks of representation to understand how contemporary non-Western "worlds of difference" capitalize on, reproduce and resist vestiges of colonial representations.

O presente artigo consiste em um recorte de uma breve pesquisa realizada para fins de avaliação do aprendizado, no âmbito da disciplina ‘Métodos qualitativos e análise avançada de dados’, ministrada pela profa. Dr.ª. Selma Leitão, no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Psicologia Cognitiva da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE). Realizou-se análise de conteúdo de duas entrevistas semiestruturadas, ambas realizadas em dezembro de 2019, buscando-se conhecer os sentidos atribuídos ao movimento social de ocupação de um espaço público localizado em um bairro do Recife – o Centro Social Urbano Engenho do Meio (CSU). O estudo contou com duas participantes: uma antiga moradora do bairro (M.) e uma ocupante do CSU (S.). A análise revelou que, para M., a ocupação se trata de um acontecimento negativo e indesejado; contrariamente, para S., trata-se da possibilidade de realização de um sonho e de um meio de promoção de valores humanos como dignidade e companheirismo.
