The War on Drugs has had grave humanitarian consequences for Latin America. It has encouraged a highly militarized and ultimately unsuccessful approach to drug control, leading to violence, displacement, and human suffering throughout the region. In acknowledging and responding to this suffering, humanitarian organizations have recently begun to frame this situation as a “humanitarian crisis” to facilitate humanitarian entry into new spaces. There is a need for a conceptual conversation about the use of the label “humanitarian crisis” in reference to the human costs of the War on Drugs in Latin America, particularly its rhetorical and normative use by the media and civil society and its strategic and moral use by humanitarian actors.La Guerra contra las Drogas ha tenido grave consecuencias humanitarias para América Latina. Media digital saat ini memiliki peran besar sebagai sumber informasi utama dan mampu membawa sesuatu yang baru terhadap lingkungan sekitar. Media digital juga berperan sebagai alat utama dalam penyebaran budaya populer, serta berfungsi sebagai mengenalkan budaya populer pada khalayak umum. Rumusan masalah pada penelitian ini adalah bagaimana peran media massa sebagai media perantara dalam penyebaran budaya populer pada komunitas Moarmy Pekanbaru. Mas, com as profundas transformacoes que vem ocorrendo no comercio internacional de acucar as situacoes de mercado tem oscilado bastante. Na literatura nao foram encontrados trabalhos de avaliacao do desempenho brasileiro frente aos demais principais exportadores mundiais de acucar. Por isso, objetivou-se avaliar o desempenho das exportacoes e a competitividade dos principais paises exportadores de acucar, no periodo de 1991 e 2014 utilizando da metodologia Constant-Market-Share. The total impact of exports (direct, indirect and induced effects) on added value, employment, labor income and tax impacts in Arkansas are estimated using Impact Analysis for Planning (IMPLAN).

The lack of knowledge and understanding of the people of Mila District on animal conservation causes conflicts between animals and the local community. One method that can be used to increase public understanding of the importance of maintaining elephant conservation is to apply the blended learning method. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of blended learning to increase public understanding of elephant conservation. This research was conducted in July 2022 in Mila sub-district, Pidie district. The research method used is an experimental method and the research design used is a questionnaire. Data was collected using a questionnaire in the experimental class and the control class with 25 respondents each. Engaging with recent applications of the concept of slow violence to the ongoing political developments in the West Bank, this review article argues that the relational approach offered by feminist geopolitics facilitates the conception of slow violence and warfare as part of a single complex of violence. The article traces feminist geopolitics' contribution to research on geographies of slow violence on the one hand, and to the analyses produced within the fields of critical geopolitics and critical war studies on the other, exposing that scholarly work exploiting the relational approach generated within and across these areas of research enables a broader understanding of political violence's tangled operations. Based on the analysis of the recent scholarly engagement with slow violence in the West Bank, the article proposes that thinking of slowness as a form of warfare captures the complex entanglement of different modalities of violence as they materialize in specific spatio-temporal circumstances. Moreover, such an approach contributes to the further reinvigoration of feminist geopolitics with insights generated within (settler) colonial studies.

The European Green Deal is the European Union’s latest expression of its ambition to become a world leader in addressing climate change. This study seeks to examine how Latvia – an EU member state – deals with the change brought about by a changing climate and the EU’s response to it. Informed by a strategic narrative approach, this study demonstrates that Latvia – originally hesitant to address climate change – has rebranded and repositioned itself as an active promoter of carbon neutrality, meanwhile constructing an identity narrative of Latvia as a pragmatic and reliable EU partner by embracing an image of a North European country at the government level. The narrative seeks to appeal to a Nordic life-style and resonates with levels of social welfare that Latvia aspires to achieve. By exploring how EU member states construct identity narratives around the EU’s institutional constraints, this study adds the dimension of narratives and perceptions to processes of Europeanisation.

The demand for results within international development co‐operation has increased over recent decades. Although many development actors agree on the necessity of improving their reporting on results, there is no general definition of what a result is or what the so‐called results agenda entails. With examples from Swedish development co‐operation and Swedish development relations with Uganda, this article explores how development actors are framing the results agenda. The findings, drawn from document analysis and interviews with stakeholders in Sweden and Uganda, reveal that Swedish development actors have different ways of describing the problem they intend to address with the results agenda, leading to misunderstandings over the implementation of the agenda and the effectiveness of the development co‐operation.
