In recent years, there has been considerable interest in applying Distributed Hash Tables (DHTs) to application-level multicast since DHTs have many advantages that are good for multicast applications: decentralization, scalability, fault tolerance, load balancing, and good routing performances. However, an effective bandwidth utilization method is required for DHT-based multicast systems because of a number of technical issues such as heterogeneous node capacity and dynamic membership. In this paper, the authors propose their BAM-Chord (i.e., Bandwidth Adaptive Multicast over Chord), a DHT-based multicast system that focuses on host heterogeneity, network scalability and effective bandwidth utilization. In recent years, there has been a growing demand for cybersecurity experts, and, according to predictions, this demand will continue to increase. Cyber Ranges can fill this gap by combining hands-on experience with educational courses, and conducting cybersecurity competitions. In this paper, we conduct a systematic survey of ten Cyber Ranges that were developed in the last decade, with a structured interview. The purpose of the interview is to find details about essential components, and especially the tools used to design, create, implement and operate a Cyber Range platform, and to present the findings.

Mobile Agent (MA) technology has been recently proposed in Wireless Sensors Networks (WSNs) literature to answer the scalability problem of client/server model in data fusion applications. Herein we present CBID, a novel algorithm that calculates near-optimal routes for MAs that incrementally fuse the data as they visit the Sensor Nodes (SNs) while also enabling fast updates on the designed itineraries upon changes of network topology. CBID dispatches in parallel a number of MAs that sequentially visit sensor nodes arranged in tree structures and upon visiting an SN with two or more child SNs, the MAs (master MAs) clone of themselves with each clone (slave MA) visiting a tree branch. When all slave MAs return to that SN, they deliver their collected data to the master MA and are then disposed of. All mobile nodes function as mobile routers that discover and maintain routes to other mobile nodes of the network and therefore, can be connected dynamically in an arbitrary manner. The mobility attribute of MANETs is a very significant one. The mobile nodes may follow different mobility patterns that may affect connectivity, and in turn protocol mechanisms and performance. Mobility prediction may positively affect the service-oriented aspects as well as the application-oriented aspects of ad hoc networking.
