Com base na nova historiografia alemã, o artigo trata de algumas formas de compartilhar a experiência, do dever da memória e do reescrever da história no que tange ao genocídio durante a guerra colonial (1904-1907) no sudoeste africano. A história e a memória passam por um processo de descolonização, tanto na Alemanha quanto na Namíbia, que transcorre por meio de petições por reparações ou protestos diante de monumentos do período (pós-)colonial ou de rituais de comemorações. Sobre essas experiências, as histórias nacionais de países africanos apresentam tensões intrínsecas ao caráter multicultural ou pluriétnico das sociedades pós-coloniais.

The subject of the paper is the analysis of economic and social advantages of remittance inflows from the Serbian diaspora. Remittances are important for domestic economy and people for several reasons. First and foremost, these remittances are at a high level because of a large number of Serbs that have emigrated in the decades behind us. Even though the exact amount of these remittances cannot be precisely calculated, due to the fact that a great portion of remittances comes to Serbia via informal channels, remittance inflows can have positive effects on many economic aspects of receiving countries, especially in the case of transitioning countries that have gone through difficult periods of economic and political crises, war crisis and devastations. Introduction and Objective: The aim of the study is to correlate the sonographic findings of breast ultrasound done by clinicians/surgery residents with radiologists and also to correlate the sonographic findings of breast ultrasound with cytopathological or histopathological findings.Materials and Methods: A prospective observational study conducted at KMCTH from March 2014 to March 2015. All consecutive patients presenting with clinically palpable breast lumps were included in the study. A sample size of 30 patients was taken. All patients with clinically palpable solid breast lumps were subjected to ultrasound by a clinician/surgical resident. Ethical clearance was taken from the institutional review board and informed consent was taken from the individual patients.Results: We found that the sonography done by clinicians/surgery residents had 100% sensitivity, 84.6% specificity and PPV of 50%. El objetivo principal de esta tesis es poner en diálogo las representaciones sociales de las personas denominadas negras desde las últimas etapas de la época colonial española en Guinea Ecuatorial hasta la actualidad con las producciones culturales literarias del colectivo negroafricano, a fin de enfrentar dos relatos completamente diferentes, y que ponen de manifiesto el racismo epistemológico desde el que se ha escrito la historia reciente en España. Esta tesis se ha nutrido de la corriente decolonial, una teoría crítica nos permite problematizar la construcción del conocimiento en la Modernidad y que se ha conformado como un gran opositor a los discursos legitimadores del orden colonial en el pasado y en el presente. Esta perspectiva parte de la existencia un “patrón de poder colonial” que afecta a todas las esferas de la vida social y que, surgida de una situación de colonialismo, se perpetúa hasta la actualidad cronificando situaciones de opresión que se mantienen presentes (Quijano, 2000). También se realiza desde una perspectiva afrocéntrica que, lejos de ser un concepto opuesto al eurocentrismo, nace como respuesta a este, pretendiendo colocar en el centro de las investigaciones la experiencia africana para potenciar un replanteamiento más equilibrado de la Historia (Toasijé, 2013), erigiéndose como una teoría de cambio social que combate una visión única, imperialista y occidentalista del discurso histórico (Asante, 2003). También lo abordaremos siguiendo la tradición de los whiteness studies, que tratan de analizar cómo se ha construido el concepto de “blanco” en oposición al de “negro” y estudia las formas de privilegio y dominio colonial y racial (Young, 1990). Confirmadas las hipótesis o al menos, discutiendo el discurso hegemónico a través de los argumentos expuestos en cada una de las publicaciones presentadas, concluiré indicando que este trabajo lo considero fundamental y necesario por cuanto contribuye a repensar una realidad actual global (y este caso específicamente española) que sigue estructurándose de acuerdo a los principios coloniales que generalmente se consideran superados. Y si bien he defendido que las lógicas coloniales siguen presentes en los discursos y las prácticas, parece también razonable recuperar los discursos y prácticas de resistencia anticoloniales. Como aseguraba Aimé Césaire, el colonialismo tiene un efecto pernicioso para el colonizador, y es que nos embrutece y deshumaniza. Espero haber realizado una aportación en vistas a que las personas que contamos con privilegios “raciales” seamos conscientes de la situación en la que nos encontramos.

In Part I of this essay, I sketched an overview of several contrasting approaches to civilizational analysis. I also pointed out that Europe from the twelfth century onward underwent a revolutionary transformation that set it apart from all other civilizations. The present discussion presents the analysis that follows from that background and the insights of Max Weber's "Preface" to his Collected Essays in the Sociology of Religion (1920). Jayanta Mahapatra, the first Indian poet to win a Sahitya Akademi award for English poetry, is one of those early signal poets with whom Indian English poetry got an international face. His publications in seminal poetry journals and magazines all over the world carved a prominent space for Indian English poetry in 1970s. Writing for more than five decades his poetry engages us profoundly and compels us to return to them again and again. Rewarding with honors and decorations is as old as human society. It reflects society’s need to exalt those who have distinguished themselves in the field of warfare, culture, science, or administration. With every change in the social order, the honors also changed, but they, to this day, remain an important and inevitable part of the human need for distinguishing.With the outbreak of the National liberation war, meaning WWII, it became clear
to the then leadership of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia that the feats of the fighters must be properly recognized and recognized. The movement was in a specific situation.
The distinctions of the previous political system did not correspond in an ideological sense. For those reasons, patterns close to those of the Soviet Council were resorted to. Namely, it
was a matter of a meritorious system of decorations that did not make any distinctions in relation to any affiliation, but aimed to recognize the specific work of the bearer. The first five partisan decorations at the time they were established were not yet state decorations because basically there was no organized state. They will grow into state decorations in 1945 after the final victory over fascism and the occupier. It is notable that all partisan decorations would lose their primacy in the Yugoslav decoration system in the decades to come.
This is certainly due to the need for new symbols in the young socialist Yugoslav society.
Macedonia, being in specific circumstances at the beginning of the NOB, despite the fact that it simultaneously began to offer resistance to the occupier, will not participate with a large number in the decorations received in the war and immediate post-war period. This is a special topic that should be seriously considered and processed.

Recent years have seen a surge of interest in the understanding of China from a variety of theoretical and methodological perspectives, sparking lively debates between different disciplinary domains. Yet, the legitimation of interdisciplinary approaches to the study of China is unsettled by the persistence of disciplinary boundaries, often putting a bar on research that employs interdisciplinary analytical frameworks and methods. Taking an ongoing research project on the digital governance of the Chinese diaspora as a case study, this paper looks at the study of Chinese extraterritorial power and digital platforms as an illustration of the need of adopting a perspective to the study of China attentive to different concepts, vocabularies, and methodological tools. Drawing from the fields of sociology, anthropology, critical geography, mobility studies and digital humanities, the paper suggests the need for engaging Chinese transnational space across intellectual traditions as a way for incorporating insights emerging from the study of China for the understanding of broader global processes and from the study of global processes for the understanding of China.

Охарактеризована, что примечательностью этих исследований и аналитических наблюдений то, что вопреки касательных теоретических задач и абстрактных наблюдений, в нашей науке есть задачи практические: нужны словари, в которые включаются все или по крайней мере основные, использующиеся в реальной жизни слова, принципиальные изменения, методология применения активно употребляемых слов, общее мнение авторов и знаменитых лексикологов. В статье рассматриваются работы русских ученых, лингвистов и экспертов, в том числе Г.Н. Лукина, К.П. Смолина, М. Шанского, Б. Иомдина, Петрова. Ключевые слова: лексикология, межстилевая лексика, разговорно-бытовая лексика, книжная лексика, лингвисты исследователи, стилистическая лексикология.

As Ciências Humanas e Sociais  constituem campo privilegiado para refletir a respeito da produção do conhecimento, suas características e efeitos na sociedade mais ampla. Nessa linha, as universidades são lócus de produção de uma forma específica de conhecimento, o científico, que, historicamente, caracterizou-se por ser restrito à elite, dando dimensão de universal para um saber ocidental e moderno. Nesse sentido, excluiu coletivos portadores de conhecimentos relevantes, dando-os como inexistentes. No Brasil, as políticas públicas contribuíram, nos últimos anos, para mudar o perfil da universidade, incluindo coletivos historicamente dela excluídos. Aboakyer festival, annually celebrated by the Winneba-Efutu people of Ghana is characterized by performances of different musical genres. One could observe that apart from the indigenous Asafo dance, other musical performances feature prominently throughout the township during the festivities. This study therefore, sought to find out the different forms of music that are performed during the festival, the role of these musical forms in the festival and their educational implications for practice. Two participants, a master drummer and a cantor were selected purposively and interviewed. By means of interpretive phenomenological data analysis, results revealed that besides the Asafo dance, musical types from other cultures were appropriated to the embellishment of the celebration, partly due to modernity and globalization. This paper seeks to conduct an analysis the Rohingya conflict of Myanmar using Christopher Mitchell's Spitcerow model of conflict analysis. The model is a framework that asks basic questions about the conflict in order to understand the conflict dynamics such as who the parties, what the main issues are, forms of behaviour, what changes, outcomes, and how and in what manner the conflict has broaden. In conducting this analysis, an attempt shall be made to reflect on some or all of the core theories on conflict such as Basic human Needs, Realistic theory, Social identity and generally, theories of ethnic conflict as they relate to the Rohingya conflict. An attempt shall during this reflection, seek to ascertain whether the root causes of this particular conflict are due to structural violence, human needs, or other theoretical explanations.

This chapter explores the sociolinguistic situation of Haitian migrant communities in both Cuba and the Dominican Republic. Drawing on firsthand interviews conducted in Cuba and the Dominican Republic spanning from the 1990’s until the present day, the authors compare the sociolinguistic situations of Haitian migrants and their descendants in the two countries with regards to issues of language contact, bilingualism, nationalism, and stereotyping. It is shown that Haitian migrants and their descendants in both countries have historically formed cohesive social networks which demonstrate strong linguistic and cultural loyalty in the face of often extreme marginalization. It is also shown that the burden of bilingualism in both countries falls onto the migrant communities, as very few Cubans or Dominicans learn Creole. Finally, Haitian migrants in both countries have developed a linguistic code, Haitianized Spanish, which incorporates features of both Haitian Creole and Caribbean Spanish, and which marks these communities linguistically.

Technological evolution and the consequent growing role of space economy require, at all the domestic and international levels, more detailed and certain legal rules.

The first issue of the Postmodernism Problems for 2020 is dedicated to the contemporary narrative. The publishers approved the topic in January when our lives followed a familiar rhythm of work and the number assembled in a state of emergency. The context and manifestations of the narrative go through the exploration of the new hybrid oral-writing formation through the VoIP application Viber, a narrative analysis of one of the cultural icons of Japanese cinema - Godzilla, cyberbullying as a contemporary narrative form of aggressiveness, the use of multimedia narrative for different business sectors, crisis narrative, narrative through smart technologies and the phenomenology of virtual narratives.

With the exception of Eva Behring who does not regard Martha Bibescu (1886–1973) as an “exile writer,” the few dictionaries and lexicons tackling Romanian exile writers only mention this turn-of-the-century Romanian-French woman writer’s name with modest assertiveness. This narrative of her censorship is probably the story of any exile woman writer, yet with a few entanglements created by her special social status (she became a “Princess” by marriage), by her outstanding political allegiances, and by her Bovaric spirit: malicious critics commented that her epitaph is a composition of four personae, none of them authentic. India and Canada have been locked in an escalating diplomatic crisis after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told his parliament on Sept. 18 that “Canadian security agencies have been actively pursuing credible allegations of a potential link between agents of the government of India and the killing of a Canadian citizen, Hardeep Singh Nijjar.”
On the same day, Canada ousted an Indian diplomat, whom Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly identified as an intelligence chief. Trudeau based this allegation upon intercepted electronic communications among Indian diplomats. Within a few hours, India announced that it had expelled an unnamed “senior Canadian diplomat” in response.
At the heart of this is New Delhi’s fears around the Khalistani movement, which aims to create a separate Sikh nation in the religion’s historic heartland in Punjab. India has denied involvement in the assassination, but it vigorously excoriated Canada for harboring Nijjar, whom India says was a terrorist, and who had been the subject of two Interpol red corner notices issued on India’s behalf in 2014 and 2016. India also shared information with Ottawa about a dozen criminal cases of murder and other suspected terrorist activities in which Nijjar was accused. Despite this notice, Canada simply responded by placing him on a no-fly list between 2017-18.
