Pada perusahaan manufaktur tidak adanya pengendalian persediaan baik untuk bahan baku maupun barang jadi dapat menimbulkan kemungkinan kerugian yang akan dialami oleh perusahaan tersebut. Hal itu dapat terjadi, dikarenakan terdapat penumpukan bahan baku maupun barang jadi. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan sebuah aplikasi untuk melakukan pengendalian persediaan. Metode yang dapat digunakan dalam pengendalian persediaan pada perusahaan tersebut adalah dengan menggunakan metode Economic Production Quantity (EPQ). Metode ini dapat menghasilkan jumlah pesanan produksi, frekuensi produksi per tahun dan total biaya minimal yang harus dikeluarkan oleh perusahaan. Pada aplikasi ini menyajikan catatan akuntansi berupa laporan pembelian, laporan biaya, jurnal umum, dan buku besar. Most organizations face difficult challenges in managing knowledge for crisis response, particularly in the context of emergency search and rescue (ESAR) initiatives. It is crucial for response effectiveness that such challenges be overcome. Organizational members and numerous stakeholders must share the knowledge needed to plan for such eventualities. They also must be able during a crisis to access relevant plans and communicate about their responses to it. This paper examines the role and relevance of knowledge management ideals (using an ontology based approach) in support of crisis response, in general, and ESAR, in particular.

Purpose Enterprise systems (ES) upgrade is a complex undertaking that recurs throughout the systems’ life span, therefore, organisations need to adopt strategies and methodologies that can minimise disruptions and risks associated with upgrades. The purpose of this paper is to explore the processes undertaken during upgrading ES, to identify the upgrade project stages. Design/methodology/approach This research is grounded in a qualitative survey approach, and utilises a web-based survey questionnaire and semi-structured interviews as methods for data collection. The data were gathered from 41 respondents’ and analysed using qualitatively inductive content analysis principles to derive meaning and to identify the trends about upgrade processes. The strategic alignment model of Henderson and Venkatraman (1994) views IS alignment as occurring among four factors: business strategy, organization infrastructure and processes, IS strategy, and IS infrastructure and processes. Henderson and Venkatraman view strategic alignment as occurring via simultaneous or concurrent attention to all four domains. A single case study was conducted to examine how changes in the alignment factors actually occur over time. Our findings suggest that while H& V indicated the SAM is a descriptive model, it explains few of the changes that actually occurred in the case and has limited applicability as a descriptive model.

Efficient accounting information system has much to offer in managing the costs of healthcare and improving the quality of service. Nigerian public hospitals face the challenge of managing cost of public healthcare services. In light of high costs of public healthcare services, the study assessed the impact of accounting information system on public healthcare management in Nigeria. The study used quantitative method for data collection and analysis. The researcher used survey design to collect the primary data from 60 Internal Auditors and 58 Management Executives with a structured questionnaire. SPSS multiple regression technique was used to analyze the data. The findings of the t-test revealed that accurate documentation of accounting records (t-test = 9.353 with sig. .000) and accounting control (t = 3.63 with sig. .001) have significant influence on public healthcare management. However, the correlation matrix indicates that financial report (0.928) is highly correlated with accurate documentation of accounting records and therefore excluded from the regression model. Hence, it adds no further information to the model to nullify that it has no significant influence on public healthcare management. The multiple correlation coefficient (R) is 95.5%, which shows a good level of prediction of public healthcare management. The coefficient of multiple determination (R²) indicates that 92% total variation in management of public healthcare can be explained by accounting information system. The ANOVA test results (F-Statistic, 314.9 and its sig .000) proves that accounting information system has significant relationship with public healthcare management. Therefore, it was concluded that there is a significant relationship between accounting information system and public healthcare management in Nigeria. Nevertheless, the result shown that financial reports produced has no significant influence on public healthcare management in Nigeria. However, the manual accounting system has moderate impact on public healthcare management. Hence, the study recommended that there should be regular update to validate stored accounting data to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial information in public hospitals. Thus, it helps hospital management to mitigate risks, control costs and generate revenue for the purpose of achieving the ultimate goal of desirable healthcare outcomes.
