Resumen O texto propõe uma leitura acerca de fundamentos que balizam qualidades atribuídas aos intervalos musicais no Gradus ad Parnassum (1725), de Johann Joseph Fux. Para tanto-tocando temas como antigo e moderno, gosto e correção, regra e arte, divino e humano, exercício, uso e especulação-, recuperam-se alguns preceitos presentes em Zarlino observando aproximações e afastamentos daquilo que, mais tarde, Fux levou em conta. São destacadas relações entre número harmônico e a ideia de perfeição, sobre a presença de um subjacente à música que não pode ser acessado pelos sentidos, senão pelo pensamento. Com isso, percebe-se que Fux dialoga com uma tradição especulativa que julga as proporções musicais a partir das distâncias do 1, número que é compreendido, nesse contexto, como representante da unidade [Unitas], do princípio, do criador. Por fim, observa-se que, contrapondo-se ao valor da regra pela regra, esse tipo de leitura pode arejar nossas rotinas de ensino e aprendizagem musical. | Palavras-chave: Gradus ad Parnassum; História da teoria musical; Contraponto; Consonância e Dissonância | Abstract About musical proportions: precepts in Zarlino and Fux's interpretations The text proposes considerations about the fundamentals that orientate qualities attributed to musical intervals in Johann Joseph Fux's Gradus ad Parnassum (1725). To do so-briefly passing through themes such as ancient and modern, taste and correction, rule and art, divine and humane, exercise, use and speculation-, some precepts found in Zarlino are recovered, observing approaches and departures from what Fux, posteriorly, took into account. Relations between harmonic number and the idea of perfection are highlighted, as well as the presence of an underlying level in music that cannot be accessed by the senses, but by thought. Thereby, it is noticed that Fux dialogues with a speculative tradition that judges the musical proportions by the distances from the number 1, and such number is understood, in this context, as the representative of unit [Unitas], of principle, of the creator. Lastly, in opposition to the value of the rule by the rule, it is observed that this type of reading can freshen up our routines of teaching and learning music.
